Welcome to the course in Sustainability and Business.

In this course, we will discuss what sustainability means for the business sector, which changes are implied and will be needed in the next decades, and comment on some examples of sustainable business.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

1. Define how sustainability and business are related.

2. Identify the key factors that make a business sustainable.

3. Compare two or more companies, in regard to their business sustainability.

4. Develop a possible sustainable business idea.

Learning assessment:

During the semester, you will be asked to work in groups of 4 students. You will have to develop a possible (it does not need to be implemented, of course) business idea. The ability to recognize the impact that your business can have on the environment and society will be evaluated, as well as your capacity to provide possible solutions that would make your business sustainable. The final evaluation will therefore be about a paper you will write, where you present your business idea.
