The seminar is envisioned as a platform that allows students to simultaneously master content on some of the core topics and debates around diversity in entrepreneurship while mastering the intricacies of how to do great research and prepare you for academic work such as, for example, your Master Thesis. Students will discuss papers, engage with guest speakers, and in a supported way (via a workshop and individualized coaching with a faculty member) advance and shape their research ideas. You will have a chance to present your topic and ongoing work to the class, and benefit from peer and faculty feedback. In parallel, you’ll have a chance to be involved in discussions with your peers on a variety of diversity-related topics you will research in the scope of your projects. Finally, the seminar will culminate with your seminar paper submission, which will round-up the experience of preparing you for your master thesis.

The seminar is open to any number of topics at the intersection entrepreneurship and diversity, and we will share some of our ongoing research regarding how entrepreneurs secure vital resources for survival and growth. In doing so, we will pay special attention to the gender lens and understand whether any differences exist, what informs them, and what are the outcomes. Students are provided with an overview of important readings and literature in the course of the class. During the course, students will develop their research questions and study designs, and collect and analyze relevant data in advancing their seminar papers.
